Guanabana (soursop) fruit from Costa Rica

The guanabana fruit is one of the most delicious tropical treats you can find here in Costa Rica.    Guanabana fruits are easily recognized in local markets because they are shaped like a heart, green with a spiny skin and inside is a white creamy pulp with black seeds.  The pulp can be a little sour (hence why it's called soursop in English) but with a little sweetener, it tastes delicious.

This fruit contain special organic compounds called annonaceous acetogenins, which researchers say can target and kill cancer cells.  These studies have confirmed the anti-tumor, anti-parasitic, insecticidal, and anti-microbial activities of soursop, which indigenous people discovered centuries ago!

At our Langosta Bed and Breakfast, we serve guanabana juice at least two times per week.  Lily and Victor make the most exquisite fresco (fresh) juices.  Nothing better than this fruit to start your day!

You will feel right at home at our beachfront Bed and Breakfast located near Tamarindo, Costa Rica.
