::Kasey & Patrick dream wedding at Sueño del Mar::

The entire staff here a Sueño del Mar was excited to welcome Kasey and Pat for their Costa Rica destination wedding! After researching for wedding locations, the couple chose our property based on pictures they had seen of our beachfront bed & breakfast. With the help of Susanne and Sol, Kasey and Pat were able to bring their vision for the perfect beachside wedding to life. The decor highlighted the tropical feel and natural colors of Costa Rica using local flowers, serving fresh coconuts, and creating the perfect lounge space for their guests to enjoy the sunset. For dinner, the couple surprised guests with a tropical taco bar complete with several choices of salsas and toppings prepared in house by Eduardo and Sol. Along with the open bar serving tropical cocktails, the couple and their guests were able to experience some authentic Costa Rican cuisine. The couple danced the night away to a live band on our veranda to complete the perfect wedding evening. Kasey and Pat, thank you for choosing us as your wedding venue! We all wish you the very best in your new marriage and hope you are able to come back and celebrate your anniversary with us in the future!

Sueño del Mar:: Perfect place to propose!!!!::

One of the perks of being located on one of the most beautiful spots on Langosta Beach is having a front row seat to many special occasions. Along with weddings here at Sueño del Mar, we also host birthdays, anniversaries, and even wedding proposals. Last high season wedding photographer Jeff Hooper brought his girlfriend, Katie, to breakfast at Sueño del Mar to celebrate their two year anniversary of dating. Katie and Jeff met in Tamarindo while Jeff was on a surf vacation from Colorado. Katie had lived and worked as a photographer in Costa Rica for several years shooting weddings all over the country. One of their first days hanging out Katie suggested Sueño del Mar, and it quickly became the couple’s favorite local spot for brunch. She had no idea that two years later Jeff would take her here for brunch and propose to her on the beach right in front of our property! The two now live part time in Costa Rica shooting weddings together and were married last year. They return to Sueño del Mar regularly, and still consider it one of their favorite places in all of Costa Rica. Here are some engagement photos of the couple in front of our boutique bed & breakfast captured by Julie Comfort of Comfort Studio.

When staying at our beachfront bed & breakfast in Tamarindo, Costa Rica you may want avoid the bustle of town one day and take a short stroll down the street to our neighborhood lunch spot called Matty’s Deli Cafe. With a store front right across the street from the best surf break in Langosta, Matty’s boasts some of the freshest salads, yummiest sandwiches, and healthiest smoothies town has to offer. Our favorites on the menu so far? You’ll definitely want to try one of their amazing sandwiches like the Baller (their take on the meatball sub) or the Seared Ahi Wrap made with local tuna. If you’re in the mood for a salad, the Fluffy Quinoa salad will not disappoint and is as fresh as fresh can be! Explore our beaches around! ::: Have lunch at LOLA'S :::

If you want to check out another beach town while you’re visiting Tamarindo, Costa Rica you may want to hop down to Playa Avellanas for the day. Avellanas is a quiet little surf town home to one of our favorite little spots to grab lunch, a drink, and relax for the day- Lola's. Lola’s restaurant is the focal point of Avellanas and is located right on the pristine beach amidst nothing but palm trees and wilderness. Named after the pet pig, Lola, who was known for her sun bathing and wave wading, this hip little beach bar has become considerably more popular over the years, and there is a long list of reasons why. Along with one of the best surf breaks around that draws surfers from all around, the food at Lola’s is consistently amazing. With fresh salads, incredible nachos (with chips made in-house), flatbread pizzas, and the best fish and chips platter around, you definitely want to arrive to Lola’s hungry. And the best part about Lola’s is you are welcome to lounge around for the day and enjoy cold beers and cocktails, because you will definitely be wanting a snack after your time in the surf. Bring a towel, your board, and an appetite because you will want to spend the day at Lola’s!
