Tropical Flowers
The antorcha flower (or golden torch flower) is one of our all-time favorites here at our beachfront bed & breakfast. Not only does it grow in our gardens, but it’s also the perfect splash of color in vases around our property. The antorcha is part of the heliconia family which makes it related to the banana or ginger plant. There are over 100 species of heliconia, but the golden torch shows smaller, thinner flower bracts with colors of reds and yellow. Sometimes this flower is even called a Parrot Beak flower.

This bright flower means pride and sunshine because of it’s spectacular color and it’s height. The flowers can grow from 1-3 meters in height. We like to keep these blooms around our property not only for their beauty and color they add to the room, but also because they attract some of the most beautiful butterflies! Come visit us at our beachfront bed & breakfast in Tamarindo, Costa Rica and see our beautiful gardens and flowers for yourself! You will not be disappointed!

Our lovely boutique!
Here at our boutique bed and breakfast we take a lot of pride in our eclectic decor. Many of our textiles and art pieces like our bed overlays, cloth napkins, tapestries, and wooden figurines all come from Guatemala. Because we like to show off this Central American artsy feel, we were extremely excited to have the chance to display some locally made woven lights under our beachfront trees.

The fun thing about these hanging lights is that they blend in perfectly with the scenery, but upon closer look are intricately woven together by local hands using local vine. During the day they serve as an interesting piece of art, and at night they function as soft burning lights over our sitting areas and hammocks.
If you find Tamarindo, Costa Rica on your list of places to stop on your vacation, please come visit us at Sueño del Mar Bed and Breakfast and enjoy a relaxing morning or evening under our hanging lights while lounging in our beachfront chairs.
Our beachfront hotel in Playa Langosta is the perfect setting for your next Costa Rica vacation.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Happy Thanksgiving to all of our friends from the United States! Here in
Costa Rica we call Thanksgiving the Dia Accion de Gracias, and though
it is not a Costa Rican holiday we definitely like to take the time to
reflect and be grateful.
What are we thankful for this Thanksgiving? We are thankful for the
sunshine that graces our beaches and gardens and warms our souls. We are
thankful for the staff here at our hotel who keeps our property
beautiful and ready to greet our smiling guests from all corners of the
world. We are thankful for being in Costa Rica, where Pura Vida really
is the way of life here, which is why this country is always ranked as
one of the happiest countries in the world. Lastly, we are thankful for
our guests, new and regulars, who come to our beachfront bed and
breakfast every year to rejuvenate, relax, and enjoy all our property
has to offer. If you have visited us, thank you! And if you are
considering paying us a visit, we thank you as well! Wherever you are,
we hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!

Costa Rica Coffee Production
A major benefit of visiting our boutique bed & breakfast is the gourmet breakfast you are served each morning accompanied by a cup of Costa Rican's finest coffee! There's a reason artisan coffee shops in other countries offer Costa Rican coffee, and that is because it is some of the best in the world. Starting in the 19th century, coffee became one of Costa Rica's major exports and to this day keeps Costa Rica ranked as the 13th-largest producer of coffee worldwide.

So what sets Costa Rican coffee apart? First of all, more than half or the 70,000 coffee farmers in the country are part of cooperatives involved with fair trade organizations. These fair trade organizations help secure better rights and salaries for small farmers and promote economic, social, and environmental sustainability. Along with being fair trade, the flavor of Costa Rican coffee will definitely entice you to have more than just one cup! The classic Costa Rican cup of joe is usually described as being softly acidic and mild.
So come stay with us at our boutique bed & breakfast in Tamarindo, and you will be welcomed to the breakfast terrace with a fresh cup of coffee! You can see for yourself why we are proud to serve you our local brew and why you'll want to take a few bags home with you when you go.

Camila & Kenneth Wedding Day
Camilla and Kenneth traveled from Norway with seven of their closest friends to Playa Langosta, Costa Rica for an incredibly intimate, laid back destination wedding here at our bed & breakfast. The bride and groom chose Sueno del Mar Bed & Breakfast not only for their beachfront wedding but also for the entire week-long vacation with their friends. The bride wanted a bohemian feel to her wedding, which is why she chose to have Liquid Weddings decorate with white feathers, simple wooden boxes of white flowers, and white moroccan latterns hanging in the palm trees in front of the beach at our boutique hotel. Following a dinner under the palm trees, the couple and their friends enjoyed a private bonfire on the beach under the stars. If you are looking for the perfect place for a beautiful, intimate wedding, our boutique bed & breakfast is the perfect place!
