Along with a three-course breakfast here at our beachfront bed & breakfast, we love offering a fresh fruit juice to accompany your meal! Every day is a different juice based on what is fresh, but one of the most loved juices is passionfruit juice. Passionfruit is a tropical fruit native to Costa Rica, which is why we get the freshest and yummiest passionfruits to prepare our fresh-squeezed juice in the mornings.
Not only is passionfruit juice delicious, it also has several health benefits! This fruit is full of antioxidants, minerals, vitamins, and fiber. The amount of fiber in this juice can hep lower cholesterol and help detox the body of unwanted toxins. Because passionfruit is full of Vitamin C, drinking this juice or eating this fruit can help boost your immune system as well as reduce any inflammation in the body. The vitamin A contained in this fruit promotes healthy skin and eyesight. Lastly, the potassium contained in this fruit helps regulate blood pressure and heat rate.
Come visit our beachfront bed & breakfast and see what fruit juice we are serving today!

Our Tropical Flower
Here in Costa Rica we feel very lucky to be surrounded by an abundance of incredible tropical flowers! In our suite you can regularly find a bouquet of these calla lilies, and it’s no surprise to us that these flowers come from the Greek word ‘beauty’. They are a popular choice for weddings and special events because of their ivory white petals and lush green leaves.
Cala lilies come in different colors, but the white variety is the most classic and is used most frequently for special occasions and weddings. This is why we find it to be the perfect flower to welcome brides and grooms into our honeymoon Luna suite!
Although they are called lilies, the calla lily is actually not a lily at all. They grow from perennial bulbs, originate from South Africa, and their roots are actually poisonous. But the calla lily creates a beautiful white bloom that grows tall and is hardy in hot weather, making it a perfect flower to put on display here at our beachfront bed and breakfast!
Our beachfront hotel in Playa Langosta is the perfect setting for your next Costa Rica vacation.

Our lovely boutique!
Here at our boutique bed and breakfast we take a lot of pride in our eclectic decor. Many of our textiles and art pieces like our bed overlays, cloth napkins, tapestries, and wooden figurines all come from Guatemala. Because we like to show off this Central American artsy feel, we were extremely excited to have the chance to display some locally made woven lights under our beachfront trees.

The fun thing about these hanging lights is that they blend in perfectly with the scenery, but upon closer look are intricately woven together by local hands using local vine. During the day they serve as an interesting piece of art, and at night they function as soft burning lights over our sitting areas and hammocks.
If you find Tamarindo, Costa Rica on your list of places to stop on your vacation, please come visit us at Sueño del Mar Bed and Breakfast and enjoy a relaxing morning or evening under our hanging lights while lounging in our beachfront chairs.

The best way to enjoy a vacation!!
The best way to enjoy a vacation in a new country is to be informed. At our boutique bed and breakfast we are ready to help you plan your adventures and excursions and can also set you up with experienced guides. If you arrive here and have not decided what all you want to do while in the country, do not worry! We have a lot of books and information free for you to read while enjoying your stay!
In our variety of Costa Rica and Central America guide books you can read about all our country’s treasures - the various national parks, historic sites, wildlife, and the history of this great place. Most guide books also offer must-see places in other towns, as well as some local hidden waterfalls and tiny roadside sodas (mini restaurants) where you can find the authentic Costa Rica cuisine.
Not only do we have a large selection of guide books, we also have some beautiful Costa Rican photography books. Definitely take some time to flip through our book Guanacaste Travel Routes by Luciano Capelli. This book featuring some incredible photography of the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica (the region where we are located) and "shows a new angle of the scenic beauty of Guanacaste from pre-Columbian times to the present.” Compiled of 350 images from remote spots in Costa Rica, this book suggests some hidden spots worth checking out off the beaten path.
Once you’ve decided the places you hope to visit in Costa Rica, glance through our pocket guides to Costa Rica wildlife and plants. It’s always fun to identify the species you are seeing, and here in Costa Rica there is a lot to explore!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Happy Thanksgiving to all of our friends from the United States! Here in
Costa Rica we call Thanksgiving the Dia Accion de Gracias, and though
it is not a Costa Rican holiday we definitely like to take the time to
reflect and be grateful.
What are we thankful for this Thanksgiving? We are thankful for the
sunshine that graces our beaches and gardens and warms our souls. We are
thankful for the staff here at our hotel who keeps our property
beautiful and ready to greet our smiling guests from all corners of the
world. We are thankful for being in Costa Rica, where Pura Vida really
is the way of life here, which is why this country is always ranked as
one of the happiest countries in the world. Lastly, we are thankful for
our guests, new and regulars, who come to our beachfront bed and
breakfast every year to rejuvenate, relax, and enjoy all our property
has to offer. If you have visited us, thank you! And if you are
considering paying us a visit, we thank you as well! Wherever you are,
we hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!

Guanabana tropical fruit (Sour Sop)t: Cancer Killer!
Widely circulated message claims that sour sop, the fruit from the
graviola tree, is a miraculous natural cancer killer that is 10,000
times stronger than chemotherapy.
In laboratory tests, graviola extract has been shown to kill certain types of liver and breast cancer cells that are resistant to particular chemotherapy drugs. One laboratory study also found that a compound isolated from sour sop seeds had 10,000 times the potency of one particular chemotherapy drug on colon adenocarcinoma cells. However, as yet, there have been no large scale tests on humans and there is no credible evidence to support claims that graviola is an effective cure or treatment for cancer. Moreover, graviola may have harmful side effects such as movement disorders and myeloneuropathy. Thus, while plant compounds in graviola may have properties that can kill cancer cells in vitro, claiming that sour sop is a "miracle unleashed" and a viable alternative to medical cancer treatments such as chemotherapy is highly misleading and potentially very dangerous
At our Langosta Bed and Breakfast, we serve guanabana juice at least two times per week. Lily and Victor make the most exquisite fresh juices. Nothing better than this fruit to start your day!

Tribal Make Up fashion shoot at Sueño del Mar
Both Margaux and Sarah are wedding industry professionals who met through the grapevine and instantly became friends and creative collaborators. Photographer Margaux and Makeup Artist Sarah both split their time between Washington and Costa Rica.
Only being in proximity for limited times during the year, Margaux and Sarah teamed up for their second styled masterpiece with model Alejandra, stylists Andrea and Felicia, and fashion consultant Lisa Montalvo for a tribal inspired beach shoot.
The ladies chose Sueño del Mar for it's luxurious, yet relaxed, beach atmosphere. The gardens tropical flora and charming tuscan feel of the casitas were an ideal setting for capturing the essence of natural beauty.

Say I do in 2014 at Sueno del Mar.
Our 2014 will come with a lot of joy for many
couples visiting our Beachfront B&B to say “I
do” hearing the sound of the waves. In February we have Carrie & Olivier
and Nina & Tony’s destination wedding celebration. They are two small
families coming from different places to commit each other for the rest of their
lives.
They chose different wedding planners from
the area to realize their dream wedding…
Nina & Tony chose Jaime, Anahi and Aimee
from Tropical
Occasions to orchestrate the ceremony on Langosta Beach.
Carrie & Olivier chose Kirsten and Jonathan
from Four
Wind Weddings create a Spanish Shabby Chic:
The decor emphasis will be on the bohemian, homespun colorful details that complement this quaint seaside boutique hotel. Picture decor elements that would be found in a rustic cottage in Andalusia region of Spain: ripped fabric details, white, cottage, candle lanterns, and thick slab wood tables will be combined. Soft, flowing floral details will be infused into the ceremony and reception in wooden boxes and petit mixed bottles. Bite sized desserts will entice guests to the the dessert table, as well as a decadent butter cream cake, elevated on a wooden cake stand.

them in our boutique hotel and see what they can create for our guest!!

Lilli’s brand new breakfast dish: “Chorreadas”

Starting a new year at our Beachfront Bed and Breakfast… We love to refresh our breakfast menu at times by adding new dishes. We always use fresh local ingredients as much as possible. This time we asked Lilli to make the famous “Chorreadas Tica.
There are very common on this region of Costa Rica. Usually they are served only with natilla and cheese but Lilli decide to combine different flavors like she always does… Adding a little of guacamole, fresh tomatoes and fluffy scramble eggs she create the most wonderful sweet and savory dish. You can find great recipes online and with different ingredients and easy to make.
Before you know you will have made your very own Chorreadas.
Our beachfront hotel
in Playa Langosta is the perfect setting for your
next Costa Rica vacation.
