Antares Sailing Adventure Tour
If sailing is on your to-do list for your Tamarindo, Costa Rica vacation, here at Sueño del Mar Bed & Breakfast we can set you up with one of the best sailing adventures around! The Antares is an 80-foot schooner anchored right here in the Tamarindo bay. Not only is the Antares located nearby and ready to take you on a beautiful tour of the surrounding waters, it is also family owned and operated by long-term Tamarindo residents! While you sail into the open waters, you will also be treated with on-board gourmet dining, an open bar, and cozy bean bag chairs to lounge in while you take in the scenery.
The crew will sail you out of the bay to some of the best local snorkeling spots for you to explore. And if you would rather hang out on board and relax in the sun, you can enjoy some live music while sipping your refreshing cocktail. After the snorkeling portion of the trip, you will be served an incredible meal made from fresh, local ingredients. Some of the menu options include fresh tuna, salmon, and plenty of veggie options as well.
Come stay with us at our luxury bed and breakfast here in Tamarindo, Costa Rica and let us plan your next great sailing adventure on the Antares!

Lilli’s brand new breakfast dish: “Chorreadas”

Starting a new year at our Beachfront Bed and Breakfast… We love to refresh our breakfast menu at times by adding new dishes. We always use fresh local ingredients as much as possible. This time we asked Lilli to make the famous “Chorreadas Tica.
There are very common on this region of Costa Rica. Usually they are served only with natilla and cheese but Lilli decide to combine different flavors like she always does… Adding a little of guacamole, fresh tomatoes and fluffy scramble eggs she create the most wonderful sweet and savory dish. You can find great recipes online and with different ingredients and easy to make.
Before you know you will have made your very own Chorreadas.

A Decadent Costa Rica Destination Wedding at Sueno del Mar
Having your Destination Wedding in July at our Boutique could be
a great deal! In Costa Rica, we have a little "mini summer" in July and August where it normally doesn't rain too much and because there are often times clouds, our stunning
sunsets will be a great frame for your wedding photos.
Anna Maria and Chris
chose Sueño del Mar as the ideal setting for a casual wedding, where
family and friends could enjoy the moonlit beach, laze around on the chaise lounges
and bali beds, swing in a hammock, dance and swim. The couple
asked Sunset Catering to design a cocktail party with lots of spicy Latin
appetizers, a carving station and a variety of salads. The
casual theme extended to dessert, with a chocolate fountain and tres
leches cake. Guests danced to the music of DJ Matos, taking breaks to dip
tropical fruit in the dark chocolate fountain before they returned to the
dance floor or relaxed by the pool. Decadent delight!
Congratulations to
Anna Maria and Christopher... your new beautiful life together starts now!

The Local Iguanas of Costa Rica
Here
are some facts about the wild iguanas that you will often see around our Bed& Breakfast...
They
live in places where water is abundant, like tropical rain forests. When
they are young they eat leaves, fruits, flowers, snails and insects but as they
grow they shift to a 95% vegetarian diet.
These animals are able to hold their breath for up to 30 minutes! They can
fall for 40 to 50 meters without being injured and are great tree jumpers. Their tail can weigh 20 pounds or more!
Don't be surprised if you happen to be enjoying your breakfast with us and see one. Or lounging at the pool (which is also one of their favorite spots!). And not to worry, they're really friendly and often times, very scared of us humans!
Our beachfront hotel in Playa Langosta is the perfect setting for your next Costa Rica vacation.

Our local wildlife: Costa Rica's howler monkey
The howler monkey. A
fitting name since you’ll probably hear them before you see them! We often call them “nature’s alarm clock” as
you will sometimes hear them as the sun is rising over the beautiful Guanacaste
hills near our lovely beachfront hotel.
You’ll normally find them in troops, swinging through the
trees, taking a mid-day siesta on a branch and playing with each other. As the sun sets, you can often hear them
again, howling as the sun reaches the horizon on the Pacific.
You will feel right at home at our beachfront
Bed and Breakfast located near Tamarindo, Costa Rica.
