The Local Iguanas of Costa Rica

Here are some facts about the wild iguanas that you will often see around our Bed& Breakfast...

They live in places where water is abundant, like tropical rain forests. When they are young they eat leaves, fruits, flowers, snails and insects but as they grow they shift to a 95% vegetarian diet. These animals are able to hold their breath for up to 30 minutes! They can fall for 40 to 50 meters without being injured and are great tree jumpers. Their tail can weigh 20 pounds or more!

Don't be surprised if you happen to be enjoying your breakfast with us and see one.  Or lounging at the pool (which is also one of their favorite spots!).  And not to worry, they're really friendly and often times, very scared of us humans!

Our beachfront hotel in Playa Langosta is the perfect setting for your next Costa Rica vacation.
