Guanabana tropical fruit (Sour Sop)t: Cancer Killer!

Widely circulated message claims that sour sop, the fruit from the graviola tree, is a miraculous natural cancer killer that is 10,000 times stronger than chemotherapy.

In laboratory tests, graviola extract has been shown to kill certain types of liver and breast cancer cells that are resistant to particular chemotherapy drugs. One laboratory study also found that a compound isolated from sour sop seeds had 10,000 times the potency of one particular chemotherapy drug on colon adenocarcinoma cells. However, as yet, there have been no large scale tests on humans and there is no credible evidence to support claims that graviola is an effective cure or treatment for cancer. Moreover, graviola may have harmful side effects such as movement disorders and myeloneuropathy. Thus, while plant compounds in graviola may have properties that can kill cancer cells in vitro, claiming that sour sop is a "miracle unleashed" and a viable alternative to medical cancer treatments such as chemotherapy is highly misleading and potentially very dangerous

At our Langosta Bed and Breakfast, we serve guanabana juice at least two times per week.  Lily and Victor make the most exquisite fresh juices.  Nothing better than this fruit to start your day!

Tribal Make Up fashion shoot at Sueño del Mar

Both Margaux and Sarah are wedding industry professionals who met through the grapevine and instantly became friends and creative collaborators. Photographer Margaux and Makeup Artist Sarah both split their time between Washington and Costa Rica.

Only being in proximity for limited times during the year, Margaux and Sarah teamed up for their second styled masterpiece with model Alejandra, stylists Andrea and Felicia, and fashion consultant Lisa Montalvo for a tribal inspired beach shoot.

The ladies chose Sueño del Mar for it's luxurious, yet relaxed, beach atmosphere. The gardens tropical flora and charming tuscan feel of the casitas were an ideal setting for capturing the essence of natural beauty.

Say I do in 2014 at Sueno del Mar.

Our 2014 will come with a lot of joy for many couples visiting our Beachfront B&B to say “I do” hearing the sound of the waves. In February we have Carrie & Olivier and Nina & Tony’s destination wedding celebration. They are two small families coming from different places to commit each other for the rest of their lives.

They chose different wedding planners from the area to realize their dream wedding…

Nina & Tony chose Jaime, Anahi and Aimee from Tropical Occasions to orchestrate the ceremony on Langosta Beach.

Carrie & Olivier chose Kirsten and Jonathan from Four Wind Weddings create a Spanish Shabby Chic:
The decor emphasis will be on the bohemian, homespun colorful details that complement this quaint seaside boutique hotel. Picture decor elements that would be found in a rustic cottage in Andalusia region of Spain: ripped fabric details, white, cottage, candle lanterns, and thick slab wood tables will be combined. Soft, flowing floral details will be infused into the ceremony and reception in wooden boxes and petit mixed bottles. Bite sized desserts will entice guests to the the dessert table, as well as a decadent butter cream cake, elevated on a wooden cake stand.

Both planners are very famous designers from the Tamarindo and Langosta Area… We are very exited to have them in our boutique hotel and see what they can create for our guest!!

Lilli’s brand new breakfast dish: “Chorreadas”

Starting a new year at our Beachfront Bed and Breakfast… We love to refresh our breakfast menu at times by adding new dishes.  We always use fresh local ingredients as much as possible. This time we asked Lilli to make the famous “Chorreadas Tica.

There are very common on this region of Costa Rica. Usually they are served only with natilla and cheese but Lilli decide to combine different flavors like she always does… Adding a little of guacamole, fresh tomatoes and fluffy scramble eggs she create the most wonderful sweet and savory dish. You can find great recipes online and with different ingredients and easy to make.

Before you know you will have made your very own Chorreadas.

Our beachfront hotel in Playa Langosta is the perfect setting for your next Costa Rica vacation.
