Tour Suggestion:: LA SENDA::

If you’re looking for a fun and unique adventure during your stay in Tamarindo, Costa Rica, you will definitely be amazed by a visit to La Senda. La Senda is a property that sits only 20 minutes outside of town and is 74 acres consisting of partly tropical dry forest. Owners Griet and Ann welcome you to their property and give a small background chat about their property, all of the food produced on the property, and the construction of the labyrinth. The labyrinth on the property is the largest in the world and constructed completely out of cacti! After a short introduction you will be guided through the labyrinth and even led through a ten minute guided meditation. Following your tour of the labyrinth you will be welcomed to the dinner table out on the lawn under the stars where Griet and Ann will serve you a phenomenal three-course dinner focusing on food grown on their property. La Senda offers these dinners on Friday nights and reservations are required, but you can check out their Facebook page for more information on the week’s dinner theme. Also, their website offers more information on the history of the property and the owners.

Very excited on our renovations!

This year we are excited to welcome guests here at Sueño del Mar Bed and Breakfast to our updated and expanded breakfast terrace. There was always a nice beach view from our terrace, but this year we had the terrace ceiling raised and upgraded allowing for an even better view of the ocean!

The breakfast area is next to our pool and just steps away from the beach. Surrounding our terrace is our luscious tropical gardens full of fruit trees, flowering plants, small creatures like butterflies and hummingbirds, and our frequent animal friends including iguanas and howler monkeys. It is common to see our howler monkey friends bouncing around in the trees over our property. The males make excited grunts and howls while the females enjoy a leisurely nap while the baby monkeys hop around swinging from branch to branch.

After your breakfast you are able to stroll a couple steps to our beachfront lounge chairs, hammocks, and daybed. Or just hang out in the lounge area of our breakfast terrace. This is where you can find many travel guides and photo books of the wildlife and plants of Costa Rica.

And right next to our breakfast terrace on the beach path is also our little breakfast palapa featuring a comfy swing to sit in and enjoy your coffee. If leisure is what you are looking for, hop on down to Costa Rica and let us treat you to an incredible breakfast and locally roasted coffee. You will not be disappointed!

ATV tours in Costa Rica!!

Costa Rica is the perfect destination for adventurous travelers, and here in Tamarindo, Costa Rica we have plenty of opportunities to explore! Along with being a famous spot for surfing, Tamarindo is also an ideal destination to check out the scenery while riding an ATV (all terrain vehicle). Set out with a guide to explore the beach, the rugged trails in the tropical forests, and the mountains in and around Tamarindo. An ATV tour is an exhilarating way to check out the area's scenery including several varieties of native trees such as teak and guanacaste trees. While you are admiring the trees from your ATV, be sure to keep your eyes open for wildlife! Howler and capuchin monkeys, several species of birds, and even armadillos may be seen along the way. The ATV company will provide you with a guide for your group, helmets, refreshments, and even round trip transportation from our bed and breakfast. Remember to wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes, as well as sunscreen and insect repellent. Small Budget Activities for Your Tamarindo Vacation at Sueno del Mar

Things to do for a smaller budget while staying at Sueno del Mar

Estuary tour:  Paddle out in the Tamarindo estuary by kayak or take one of the many Pangas (small covered boats).  The Tamarindo estuary offers a great variety of birds, iguanas, monkeys and crocodiles. Cost $35 per person.

2.      Beach walks:  Walk along the pretty beach of Playa Grande or towards Playa Avellanas.  Both beaches are located in a protected national park giving you the opportunity to enjoy your tranquil walk without seeing too many other people.

3.      Horseback riding:  Experience a real taste of Guanacaste’s real horse culture.  There are many different type of tours available for all levels.  The guides are always very knowledgeable about the area and will be able to provide you some interesting information on Costa Rica’s flora and fauna.   Cost: around $40 per person.

4.      Watch the sunset:  The pacific coast sunsets are amazing all year long.  The sunsets in the rainy season are probably our favorites.  Due to the clouds in the sky you will see the most incredible colors in the sky.   This might be the favorite activity at Sueno del Mar that truly is priceless.
