Matty's Deli... Best place to have lunch in Langosta!! Only 200mtrs from Sueño del Mar.

When staying at our beachfront bed & breakfast in Tamarindo, Costa Rica you may want avoid the bustle of town one day and take a short stroll down the street to our neighborhood lunch spot called Matty’s Deli Cafe. With a store front right across the street from the best surf break in Langosta, Matty’s boasts some of the freshest salads, yummiest sandwiches, and healthiest smoothies town has to offer. Our favorites on the menu so far? You’ll definitely want to try one of their amazing sandwiches like the Baller (their take on the meatball sub) or the Seared Ahi Wrap made with local tuna. If you’re in the mood for a salad, the Fluffy Quinoa salad will not disappoint and is as fresh as fresh can be! If you’re just stopping in for a drink or a snack, try one of the homemade cookies and a Blue Dream smoothie to go. Local's favorite places to eat!

If you’re exploring our beach town here in Tamarindo, Costa Rica and you need a little pick-me-up, a wonderful spot to stop and grab some local gourmet coffee and a yummy treat is Cafe Tico. Located 25 meters South of the Super 2001 supermarket you will find the small cafe and it’s welcoming patio with white chairs and tables. Definitely a local’s favorite, Cafe Tico offers a variety of baked goods and simple dishes to accompany their authentic, locally grown coffee. The cafe also sells local honey, spices, and sauces. Be sure to stop in our your next visit to town - you will not be disappointed!

We are excited to offer our guests a wonderful list of local recommendations around town, and one of our favorite dinner spots we recommend is Pangas Beach Club. In our variety of Costa Rica and Central America guide books you can read about all our country’s treasures - the various national parks, historic sites, wildlife, and the history of this great place. Most guide books also offer must-see places in other towns, as well as some local hidden waterfalls and tiny roadside sodas (mini restaurants) where you can find the authentic Costa Rica cuisine.

Not only do we have a large selection of guide books, we also have some beautiful Costa Rican photography books. Definitely take some time to flip through our book Guanacaste Travel Routes by Luciano Capelli. Sueño del mar: Great spot for snorkeling in Tamarindo!

Our boutique bed and breakfast is situated in a great spot for snorkeling in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. The best time to snorkel is around mid-tide when the waves are fairly gentle and it’s easy to navigate through the reef.

In the reef in front of our hotel you can see a variety of sea life including lobsters, eels, star fish, crabs, and several species of fish. Here are some of our favorite ocean friends:

 Hermit Crabs

This is just a small sampling of the creatures you can see out in the reef just steps from us here at Sueño del Mar. If you don’t feel like bringing your snorkel gear with you, don’t worry! We have some masks and snorkels you can borrow!
